Holiday Season, 'Improv', 'The Two Popes' and Lessons in Team Spirit & Leadership

It's Holiday Season - That time of the year when you snooze, put your feet up and await goodies... You play loud music, accede to endless rounds of Monopoly & Chess pausing only to prepare customized meals as per the wishes of your (otherwise army-like disciplined) off-springs and clean wardrobe after wardrobe, room after room hoping to find 'The Hidden Treasures of Cucamonga' (and find only stuff worth giving away or trashing!!:D).. You watch movies on loop and pick up one hobby that you hope (!!??) will undo all the stress that the year may have painted on you.. Yet remember, everything except your skin condition and hair (or the lack of it!) heals! For no magic pill can reverse those freckles (not wrinkles yet thank god!) or acne scars and the hair loss you suffered as a side-effect of those endless cups of coffee throughout the year! And let's not even talk about the irreversible weight gain - The last time one remembers pumping their fist after losing weight

Lessons on Leadership from Aladdin

Watched this musical fantasy film last week, and what a visual treat it was! A movie that engages an audience from different walks of life and varied age groups all over the world, it made me think about a few situations from our work life and how Jasmine, Aladdin and Jafar alike teach leaders a lesson or two..  GREED Ain't GOOD  Jafar is a Grand Vizier - possibly the best role in the kingdom one can ever aspire for (especially as a petty thief) ! His wishes and actions will neither do the kingdom (organization) any good OR get him anywhere in the long-run..  Yet he plots to achieve this using   wizardry (corporate politics ) to control and eventually over-throw the existing king. He has plans to send away Princess Jasmine ( the deserving successor ) through marriage to a lame prince from a far-away land  ( distracting projects ) ! YOUR ROLE AS A LEADER: I

Here's to the 21st century Wonder Woman*

You can’t miss the 21st century Wonder Woman (aka the working Mommy in this case) - You can spot her in the crowd.. You’ve always known her, except she’s far more prominent and her tribe has increased in modern times (FINALLY & AMEN!).. Her gait is peculiar much-like Aamir Khan's in PK.. And so is her voice – It’s a combination of self-doubt, confidence, emotion, passion and conviction all at once.. She’s unique in many ways, and here’s why….. She’s always checking her back, cos she’s trying to stay out of jail – The charges could be as minor and/or as serious as – She yells toooooo loud or too often the neighbors AND the inmates of the home complain – She’s yelling as she goes around fixing (OR helping fix as the case may be) unclean teeth, knotted hair, unfinished homework, dirty clothes strewn on the bedroom floor, outdoor game items strewn around the home stepping on lego blocks that threaten to take the life out of her (**** Plastic CAN & DOES hurt – Let’s go eco
